Only Days till the Tobacco Ban

Tuesday, December 29th, 2009

Well, Saint Louis has adopted a smoking ban for all public facilities, with only a small number allowances. I’m so sick and tired of my legal rights being eliminated, I’m tired. I don’t understand why non-smokers have such a stong personal judgement on what we smokers do. Everyone knows that smoking is risky, but I made a conscience decision when I began smoking, observant of the fact it was harmful. Just because non-smokers want me to cease, won’t mean that it is going to happen. Smoking in bars has been a privilage, but most restaurants have a chosen smoking room. If non-smokers do not want to inhale the smoke, don’t sit in the smoking room, you are not unwilling made to sit in that section. And as well as the employees of these restaurants that argue they are affected by second hand smoke, prove it. I worked in the service industry for more than 10 years, and I know that most of thepeople I worked with were smokers.  Dealing with the public, if anything, compels you to puff.  Also, I have never heard any non-smoking co-worker ever protest about cigarette smoke while at work in the smoking room. Putting a smoking restriction in restaurants and bars, can only save me money, because I won’t eat out after the first of the year.

All I have to have for the holiday: Stogies!

I have made a decision this christmas to plead for simple gifts that my wife can pick up competently for me. My selection, as always, is my well-beloved cigar from onyx-cigars.com. My wife doesn’t even have to depart from our home, she can go on the web (I have all my favorites sites saved) and throw in the order there. As far as other gifts, she can go to the nearest store and pick something up. She mentions every year that I am utterly baffling husband to buy for. But we have been together for about 15 years! And if she doesn’t realize the things I want by now, I quit. I constantly articulate every Christmas, “I want smokes”, I puff on 1 or 2 per day, and that adds up. I bought a humidor for keeping my smokes, “what’s that for?” she inquires. Well my love, it’s to keep my cigars crisp. So, if you get me cigars for December I can keep them in the humidor for a couple months and remove a cigar when I am wanting to fancy one. Although I have to say, I was lucky last year, she gave me a lighter that was ingraved with my initials. The year before, she got me a fishing pole, because I said I wanted to go fishing again someday. Well, I went fishing one time in two years, but guess what, I still puff 1-2 smokes every day. So what do I want for my present this year? I want Cigars, and whatever else would just be an secondary delight.
